Est-ce vraiment une surprise de voir du MMA diffusé par RMC Sport 3 à 21h ? L’AS Roma a fait du très grand Mourinho ce jeudi en se donnant tout le mal du monde pour offrir un match nul 0-0 face à la Real Sociedad et ainsi assurer la qualification en quarts de C3 grâce à sa victoire lors du huitième aller (2-0).
La première alerte du match est pourtant une frappe de Dybala, venant prendre Remiro à contre-pied grâce à une déviation de Sørloth (14e). Puis c’est la fin du spectacle : le reste ne sera que coups, fautes (28 au total), simulations, gains de temps, ballons envoyés en touche pour casser la moindre attaque placée basque. Ce qui pousse les Mikel à tenter leurs chances de l’entrée de la surface : Oyarzabal d’abord, Merino ensuite (29e puis 31e). Symbole de la boucherie qu’est ce 8e, Rico n’écopera que d’un jaune pour avoir explosé le nez de Karsdorp sur un coup d’épaule dans un duel aérien (40e). L’AS Roma aurait même pu réussir son casse si le but inscrit par Smalling de la main n’avait pas été grillé par la VAR (45e).
Côté basque, on s’impatiente, et Brais Méndez envoie centre sur centre dans la boîte, histoire de trouver une tête txuri-urdin qui pourrait libérer les siens. Plus grand que tout le monde, Sørloth purge deux caviars de l’Espagnol, alors qu’il était seul au point de pénalty (47e puis 55e). Le capitaine Oyarzabal manque même l’immanquable sur un corner qu’il coupe en deux fois : la première frappe termine sur Patricio, la seconde sur la transversale (67e). Dernière tentative de centre-tête avec cette fois-ci Zubeldia pour rater sa reprise (74e). La rencontre finit évidemment sur une bagarre générale, avec un rouge pour Fernández et un jaune pour Smalling.
