Comme l’annonce Sky Sports, Erling Haaland a été nommé footballeur de l’année 2023 en Premier League par la Football Writers’ Association, l’association des journalistes anglais. Le Norvégien totalise ainsi 82 % de votes et devance Martin Ødegaard et Bukayo Saka d’Arsenal. Avec 35 buts déjà inscrits en championnat (51 toutes compétitions confondues), l’attaquant de Manchester City est en effet le nouveau recordman du plus grand nombre de pions sur une saison domestique.

Chez les filles, Sam Kerr, attaquante australienne de Chelsea, est quant à elle élue pour la deuxième année consécutive. La Matilda a marqué 26 buts en 34 matchs, toutes compétitions confondues. Rachel Daly (Aston Villa) et Lauren James (Chelsea) complètent le podium.

En France, on a le Marcel d’or, sinon.
