Jordan Pefok débarque à l’Union

Ich bin ein Berliner.

C’est probablement ce que l’Américain Jordan Pefok dira au moment de poser le pied dans la capitale allemande. À 26 ans, l’ancien Rennais quitte les Young Boys pour aller tenter sa chance en Bundesliga du côté de l’Union Berlin. « Leur style de jeu me convient très bien et je me réjouis de marquer des buts pour les Eisernen dans l’incroyable atmosphère de l’Alte Försterei », a déclaré la nouvelle recrue.

À l’Union, club entraîné par le Suisse Urs Fischer, Pefok remplacera le Nigérian Taiwo Awoniyi parti à Nottingham Forest en début de mercato. Le montant total du transfert se chiffrera entre 6 et 8 millions d’euros selon les bonus. Champion helvète avec Berne en 2021, l’attaquant sort d’une grande saison à l’issue de laquelle il a été titré meilleur buteur du championnat avec 22 réalisations.

La troisième tunique des Berlinois lui rappellera ses grandes heures en Bretagne.
