Miroslav Blažević, ancien entraîneur du FC Nantes, est décédé

La Fédération croate de football a annoncé ce mercredi le décès de Miroslav Blažević. À 87 ans, l’ancien entraîneur du FC Nantes entre 1988 et 1991, se battait en effet contre un cancer diagnostiqué en 2011.

Après une modeste carrière de joueur, au Lokomotiva Zagreb et à Rijeka notamment, « Ćiro » se lance comme entraîneur en 1968. Et entre la Suisse, la France, la Grèce ou encore la Chine, il a connu 28 bancs de touche différents. Entraîneur réputé, Blažević restera surtout celui qui a mené la Croatie à son premier podium international, et une troisième place obtenue lors de la Coupe du monde 1998 grâce à une victoire sur les Pays-Bas (2-1).
