Kevin Volland quitte Monaco et rentre en Allemagne

A Monaco aussi, l’amour dure trois ans.

Arrivé à l’été 2020 sur le Rocher, Kevin Volland avait le mal du pays. L’international allemand de 31 balais a en tout cas décidé de rentrer à la maison, du côté de la capitale, où il s’est engagé avec l’Union Berlin, qualifié pour la prochaine Ligue des champions. Le buteur retrouve ainsi la Bundesliga, qu’il a connue de 2012 à 2020, avec Hoffenheim puis le Bayer Leverkusen.

A un an de la fin de son contrat, celui qui avait pris un abonnement à l’infirmerie de la Turbie n’a disputé que 17 rencontres la saison passée, pour trois petits buts. Des statistiques bien loin de ses deux premiers exercices monégasques, terminés sur le podium de Ligue 1. Avec 28 pions et 22 passes décisives en 86 rencontres, Kevin Volland ne sera toutefois pas à ranger dans la case des flops de l’ASM.

Passé de Monaco à l’Union, c’est un saut politique inédit.
