Fernandinho (ex-Manchester City) retourne au Brésil dans le club de ses débuts, le Club Athletico Paranaense

La boucle est bouclão.

À 37 ans, Fernandinho revient dans son pays natal pour ce qui ressemble à un ultime challenge. Ce lundi, le club de l’Athletico Paranaense a officialisé le retour du milieu de terrain, dix-sept ans après son départ pour l’Europe en 2005. Pilier du Shakhtar Donetsk (2005-2013) et de Manchester City (2013-2022) qu’il a quitté un peu par surprise, le vétéran vient donner un coup de main à son tout premier club (situé non loin de sa ville de naissance Londrina), troisième du championnat brésilien après quatorze journées.

Sur les réseaux sociaux, le club a compilé tous ses meilleurs buts lors de sa carrière pour annoncer son arrivée en lui souhaitant la bienvenue. Fidèle à son rôle ingrat sur le terrain, le Brésilien aux 53 sélections portera le numéro 5 et la durée de son contrat n’a pas encore été communiquée. Premier League ou pas, il continuera d’envoyer des taquets à Willian (aujourd’hui aux Corinthians).
